What You'll Pay - No Hidden Costs

We quote the job as a whole: preparing the subfloor, the fitting itself, trims, thresholds and finishing. If we are supplying the boards, the timber is priced up front too. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice.

A new floor is only as good as the subfloor under it and the acclimatisation before it. Those are the corners that get cut to make a cheap quote work, and they are exactly the corners we do not cut.

What to Expect

Choose the right boardSolid or engineered, plank width, finish. We talk you through what suits the room, the subfloor and the way you live, with samples in hand.

Prepare the subfloorLevel, dry and solid before a single board goes down. This step decides whether the floor creaks in two years, so it gets done properly.

Acclimatise the timberBoards sit in the room they are being fitted in until they have settled. Skipping this is how new floors end up with gaps by Christmas.

Fit tight, square and levelLaid with proper expansion gaps, tight joints and clean trims. We do not leave until the details are right.

FAQ - Floor Fitting

Engineered is more stable over concrete, underfloor heating and rooms with changing humidity. Solid suits suspended timber floors and can be sanded more times over its life. We will tell you which suits your room rather than which suits us.
Either. We can supply and fit, or fit boards you have already bought. If you are buying your own, talk to us first and we will tell you what to look for.
Most single rooms are done in a day or two once the timber has acclimatised. Whole floors and jobs needing subfloor work take longer, and the quote will say so honestly.
Yes, with the right engineered board and the heating commissioned properly first. It is a common job for us and we will walk you through the do's and don'ts.
